There is also an 1899-O I'm watching, ending in 2 hours but I can't post a link. MS64. It has 5 bids right how and is $70. If you can find it, what are your thoughts. Thanks again to everyone!
Could just be the pics but there appears to be a fingerprint on the 1899O that I am looking at if this is the one.. Perhaps it is the angle or something else. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1899-O-Silver-Dollar-NEW-ORLEANS-MINT-PCGS-MS64-/120793385694?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item1c1fd8cade
I agree. I'd pass on that one. Besides the possible fingerprint, see those hazy/milky spots on the coin? Imo, those are very distracting.
I am passing on that coin. Thanks to everyone for talking me out of it. It has raised a question for me though... I trust everyone's recommendations, but why / how is a coin not good ieven though it is a PCGS MS64?
In this case the coin was probably dipped prior to being submitted and looked great when first graded over time the fact that all the dip had not been rinsed off came back in the form of the milky haze seen. Added info. If the coin would of been graded higher this type of problem would of most likely been fixed by someone sending it in for regrade but at it's price point that is unlikely to happen as most just do not feel it justifies the added time and expense so it ended up going to eBay and the owner just finds another one.
It comes down to the best advice one can get, buy the coin and not the holder. The technical grade is one part, but eye appeal should go along with the grade.
Ok.... I now have a selection narrowed to a 1898 I think P, or a 1879-S both ending in about 5 hours, and both right now about the same price as of right now. If I understand, correctly, the 1879 should be a nicer coin, but there are a lot of them. What can be told about the other? Suggestions to either please...
While the '79-S is a very good year, you can still find below average '79-S, so just because it's a '79-S doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be nicer than any other date. Don't know why you're having trouble posting links, you should be able to copy the url and paste it in the text box.

Comments, or recommendations anyone? Thanks!
I just tried to post links again... This is what I get: "Thank you for posting! Your post will not be visible until a moderator has approved it for posting. Read more: http://www.cointalk.com/t193368-4/#ixzz1az2Bvjkc"
Strange, maybe there's a restriction on new members posting links (though I've never heard of one before). Anyway, you can just copy the ebay ID # (it's like 12 digits found in the url, usually right after a /) and post those ID numbers. I can look up the auctions with those.
