Can anyone identify any of these tokens? If so, are any of them more valuable than the common patriotic tokens and store cards? Thanks in advance for any help.
Nice selection you have there sorry I cant help you on value or how rare they are but I do like them, We do have one member who is the Civil War Token expert though & I am sure he will be along for a look see before too long LOL CW realy knows his stuff.
Nice Civil War tokens there Shortgapbob. Sorry for the delay in responding, but I am not able to stop in here as often as I would like. Prices are for the grades of F/VF; XF, and UNC. Upper left: The color suggests the possibility of brass, but that die combo is only listed in copper. If actually brass, the value would be considerably more than the copper variety of course ( I have a couple dozen unlisted cwts myself, so it certainly is in the realm of possibility). 206/323a (copper), R3 rarity (501-2000 known) $12, $15, $22 Upper right: 51/342Aa (copper), R2 rarity (2001-5000 known) $13, $17, $22 Middle: NY630BM-1a (copper), reverse die1010, R1 rarity (over 5000 known) $12, $15, $20 Lower left: I can not be certain of the metal from the pictures, but I am leaning towards copper. if copper - 1/391a, rarity 1 (over 5000 known) $12, $15, $20 if brass - 1/391b, rarity 4 (201-500 known) $15, $20, $40 Lower right: NJ885A-1b (brass), R3 rarity (501-2000 known) Broken obverse dies are noted, but yours appears to have a broken reverse die. $12, $15, $25
Hello Jack, While there is a chance that you are correct in your identification, neither Fuld's nor Kanzinger's lists that die pairing. Not only is that pairing unlisted, Fulds does not show die 20 paired with any dies bearing any resemblance to die 352, and die 352 is not listed as being paired with any die that resembles die 20, so this does not appear to be a case of confusing one die with a similar die design. Can you post pictures?
