Hello. I found this penny among the thousands of pennies at my grandparent's house and didn't know if it was 'special' or not. It is quite a bit smaller than the other wheat pennies. At first I thought it was just really worn but the lines are still very readable. I tried to show the size of it by comparing it to another one but I'm not sure if you can really tell from the picture. It only weighs 1.94 g. I am not a coin collector, I am just trying to sort all of the pennies found at my grandparent's house for my dad. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Andrea

For someone who doesn't collect coins, I'm impressed you took the time to weigh it. Good for you.

Thank you so much for the information. As I said, I am not a coin collector but I am learning about pennies little by little. Going through and sorting the buckets of pennies we found has been interesting, to say the least. Again, thank you to those who posted a reply.

Boy, it's refreshing to see someone new actually post decent pictures and determine the weight! Kudos to you! As the others said, this is clearly acid damage....keep searching!
