I work at a deli and have the opportunity to go through about $5,000 in cash on a weekly basis. I mainly collect silver coins, but whenever I find an older Federal Reserve Note I buy it from my boss. Over the past couple of weeks, I have come across a nice 1977 $20 FRN, and this week a guy used a 1985 $10 note that I bought from my boss. I have some pictures below. Was just wondering if anyone knows anything about these two series of notes - are they worth anything over face value, sought after, or just cool to hold onto?

I'd appreciate any info ;) I know there's a 'What's it Worth' forum, but the last time I posted about paper money there, I was redirected here! ;)

Both fairly common and large print runs but you never know so keep picking them up when you can. Good Luck!

It is extremely rare for me to get Minneapolis-Mineapolis anything. Even just regular cash. And believe me when I say, I've gone through thousands of bills. I have very little Minneapolis notes in my collection. I would keep both notes in a heart beat. I specifically keep all $5's-$100's Series 1995 and earlier anyways, but with the one being Minneapolis, I would be more temped. As for the $20, it is old enough to keep anyways...

I like the serial for the $20.

How do you like the currency holder? I was just looking at the same one at hobby lobby?

    I like the 20 myself.
I check all my notes for decent SNs, stars, and dates, but rarely keep anything over a $1 bill due to cost.
I'd definatly keep those if I could afford it. Good finds IMO.

It definitely serves it's purpose! I got it at Hobby Lobby. They had a different holder that was a black leather binder, but it was way more than $3.99, so I just stuck with this. I don't have many Fed notes anyway, so I don't need a lot of album space right now.

Thanks for the replies guys. It's amazing how older, solid green notes stick out like a treasure amongst all of the colored, Monopoly money in circulation now.
