hey everyone, recently my dad saw this coin/token at a garage sale and bought it for me to add to my collection. its still in its origional packaging and never been opened. can anyone tell me if this is a good addition to my collection or is it junk?
There are a couple listed on eBay for around $10 each, but yours is still in the original packaging and such. So, I would guess yours would be worth a bit more than that. Also, there are some topical collectors of railroad-type tokens that may pay a premium for such a token. Overall, a pretty cool find for a garage sale! :thumb: PS -- my ebay search was for the string "1973 cable car token".
The only one here that can answer that is you. Personally, I like it because I love San Francisco. I also like it because I collect tokens. If you like it, how can it possibly be junk? Guy
Well, I will just say that had I seen it at a garage sale, I would have latched onto it with white knuckles...I just have a fascination with tokens and anything money-like. I love their story, history, and that you can learn so much by researching them! I think it's a cool pick up!
