I recently purchased this coin off of eBay and it is in the mail as we speak. It looks genuine, what do you guys think?

I've never heard of a silver indian head cent before...It may just be silver plated.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay, including shipping?

I think it's a cast fake. See the casting line around the outer edge ?

$4.15 including insured shipping. There are other known off metal Indian Heads, but they are quite rare.

Doesn't look like a cast fake to me, I will do a ring test and weigh it to confirm. It could be plated, who knows.

I just received the coin today and confirmed that it is silver plated.

Silver? What makes you think it is Silver plated. More than likely it is Zinc, Tin or Aluminum. Also, the grade would indicate not a great deal. As usual, keep away from ebay.

It is a silver plated Indian Head cent. I thought it could have been an off-metal one so I bought it. I knew what the risks were and I didn't lose much. eBay isn't all that bad, I rarely get anything off there unless it's a good deal.
