Hello, Well I got these coins for $12.5 dollars each. Did I do good? If I didnt what would be the best solution to do? Thanks so much Dan
What happened to them? You didn't do horrible. But overall it was a pretty bad deal especially in that condition.
Which 3 dates? Any 70 or 71 at 12.50 will be a low grade problem type coin. I would need better pictures to really tell if it was a bad deal. But to get G to VG coins you start looking and the 40 to 90 range and not sure what is in your budget.
Well, in G-4 these would book at about $350... but I can't even read the dates from these pics, so I can't venture a guess at grade (or value).
Doesn't look like G-4, more like some lower grade of AG. If you don't like them, you did bad, if you like them you probably did OK considering their value in G-4. It personal though. Someone would love to get them for $15 each, someone else (like me, for example) wouldn't take them all for $3.
I got them just to fill a hole and when I upgrade them I will sell them at the price I got. The dates are readable though. They sell for $20 on ebay so Ill probably sell them for what I got. Dan
I'd say considering with what these dates go for in good you didn't make out too awfully bad-even though they obviously won't make that level. I wouldn't mind seeing better pics either if you can get them because you might have 2 or 3 that are a little better than the rest. As Taxidermist said, its personal but they will fill the holes and you may be able to recoup some or all of your money down the road to the right person.
The first IHC's I bought were G/VG and I got them cheap. As I filled my collection, the G's had to go, they just looked bad compared to the other coins. I guess what I'm saying is think of what you want your collection to look like in five years. Do you want AG/G coins or do you want F/VF? I paid almost $100 for my 1871, but it is in incredible condition with full Liberty. Bottom line is: If you are happy...that's all that matters.
