I have a friend who found this in a storage unit and I have googled it but can't find out what it is. It is a 1997 Lincoln cent, but it is the same size as an American Silver Eagle and weighs 28.5 grams. It doesn't say anything on the reverse other than "One cent", "United States of America" and "E Pluribus Unum". On the Obverse it just says "In God We Trust", "Liberty" and "1997". Anybody here know what this is?

I cant help you with your post. But that medal, or whatever you would classify it as, is pretty cool.

Its a privately minted over-sized copy. It looks to have a proof finish. You probably could get $5+ on eBay for it.
