I recently bought 15 steel pennies for 18 bucks total. two of which are S mint and others are D and some none at all (P). They are in real poor shape. i love steel pennies and could not resist. i also had a chance to buy a gold coin for 2100$ and it was graded by NGC with AU 21 i believe. i would of bought it in a heart beat but that cost more then what i paid for my car!!
Just so you know, there is no such thing as AU-21. If it's AU, it would have to be AU 50-58. As far as the steel cents, you can get uncirculated ones for around $1-$2.
So, what did you want our opinion on exactly? I was simply saying that 'poor shape' steel cents are not a good deal for 15 at $18, when you can get uncirculated ones for almost the same price. We can't give any opinions on the gold coin, since you didn't say what it was either.
apparently circulated steel cents are not expensive I paid $5 for these at a local coin shop North of Boston. 1943 and 1943D - about the best that can be said of them is that the date can be read on all of them.
ok i forgot that i for 18$ i bought 15 steel pennies, I think an 1857 ( not sure on date) USA quarter and also a Indian head penny.
Like everyone has said, some pictures would help, and while you are at it, i am really interested in your sub- $2100 car, can you post a pic of that also
I offer my circulated steel cents at the show for 5 cents each and they don't move. I have started giving them away to kids who come to my table. Richard
