What should I buy?

I have $250 and am wondering what to buy. I have thought of a cheap DMPL Morgan, a 2006 Rev. Proof Silver Eagle or a 5 oz ATB quarter. Which of those should I get or do have any other suggestions?

With silver at the price it is right now I'd go with the ATB

I seconds this. But whatever you get, I'd definitely look into silver.

Where is it that your collecting interests lean more to? Is it "moderns"? Go with the reverse proof silver eagle.

Is it more "classical"? A marvelous Morgan would be a most welcomed addition to your collection.

Are you bullion driven? A 5 oz. ATB would satisfy the hankering........

OK. Gotcha. Know where you're coming from and understand what you're experiencing. Kid in a candy store with way too much "jing". A humble suggestion? Go with the reverse proof ASE. It's unique at this point in time, and I do believe it will be sought after in years to come. The mint plans to issue another one in a 25th annual set in late October, but still, I believe it will be a much sought after coin. Of course I'm prejudiced. I am a "modern" guy.......:)

I agree with green18. You just have to think about your interests right now. This week I´d go for the reverse proof silver eagle.

OK, new dilemma time! I found a pair of 1943 P Steel Cents both PCGS MS66, one has a cracked holder though, which is scaring people from the auction. The value of one of these coins is about $40, and if I win both, it will be a good deal. If I do this though, I may not have enough money for a 2006 Rev. proof eagle, which comes to the next problem. I found an PF66 one of eBay and I could get it for cheap and it would look basically the same or an MS69 one for over $200.

    OR

Should I buy a pair of Bose QuietComfort 15 headphones? The quality of the music I like is very important to me and I've been wanting these for a while.

I think you should take your pants off and ask your Mom to patch the hole in your pocket.

Get yourself a nice 1909 VDB. For $250 you can buy a honey.

Everyone loves pennies. Who can't relate? Who doesn't love Abraham Lincoln? The penny was our first coin with a real person on it. There's the Teddy Roosevelt thing, the VDB controversy which will live forever.

It's just over 100 years old, 200 years since Abe was born.

The coins themselves have incredible eye appeal.

Or, you can buy some modern carp.

But seriously... I´d go for whatever you like out of the options we given here. The reverse proof Eagle looks wonderful, but the the 1909 cent sounds great too. Let us know what you decide.

It's looking to me like silver is a good way to lose money. I know I am.

I'm an early copper guy. If you can be satisfied with something else, avoid early copper. It's like a fine woman who is very jealous.
