Nothing comes free in life man. You could check out Ebay, but you'll almost certainly pay at least what they're worth. You could try roll searching too.

Usually you can get dimes off of ebay at melt, and free shipping. Hit coinflation.com, see what the coin is worth in melt, then go hunting for dime lots on ebay. Things to be careful: watch for shipping costs, and watch for seller rating - be sure to get a good one.

Since silver has taken a dive in recent weeks, it is harder to find lots at melt. But it is a good place to pick up junk silver.

If you really want to get cheap, you could always go to a big shopping mall that has a few water fountains, and.........need I say more?

  6. Hm, getting a box of dimes may be a bit too pricey for you, even though you don't lose any money, really. Your best bet is going to your local coin shop and requesting to look through the "junk silver". It may vary by dealer, but you can probably get some nice silver dimes for spot/just over spot, which is currently at $2.21 each

Teletrade sent me 5% OFF coupon cause they love me so much.

    Wait. Scratch that.

They love my money so much. There. I got it. :)

When I "need" silver, I buy from this guy at work. I'm in the market, like you, for dimes, cause they be "cheap" compared to Morgans and other 90% silver.

While you're at it, why not ask "where can I still buy US silver at 10x face value?"

I can't believe people still post this stuff! :foot-mouth:

I'm pretty sure if I had a place where I could get silver for really cheap, I'd tell everyone else where it was, too...

Honestly, your best bet is the banks, and then flea markets and antique malls. But you're gonna have to work to get good prices. But the benefit of this is that the experience you gain will carry you over until you have enough money to pay more for the coins you buy.

I think it's probably best that coin collectors start out on a small budget - because then the mistakes you make will only be small ones...
