    Some more Random Gold

1900-S Double Eagle is a Common Date, but it is estimated a large number of these have been melted down for the gold value over the years :rollling:

Wow! I have never come across such great looking gold coins anywhere, except at a coin show of course, great idea. :thumb:Here's the last one I bought around a week ago or so. It's a Gibraltar Una and Lion Gold 1/10th, 1997. Sellers pics of course. :thumb:

A pretty good late season day! The grey pieces are lead and industrial waste found in the same crevices. This day melted down into a 8.8 gram button then melted that onto another glob for spill protection. All other noteworthy pickers are saved raw of coarse. Matt

I bought this back in the late '90s, just after my father passed away. He was born the same year it was minted.

Another beauty Lance. Your dad was 17 when mine was born. What an era they grew up in.

    More Curly gold.

Indeed, Rob. It's impossible to imagine.

Funny...everyone raves about the beauty of the St. Gaudens DE. Hard to argue, for sure. But don't you think these Liberty Heads DE's are incredible? They're the Rodney Dangerfield of double eagles, I figure.

That was one of my favorite songs as a kid. It was from the Hardy Boys segment of the Mickey Mouse Club. It made me want to own at least one of each. So here is a pair.
