I recently discovered this coin, and I'm curious if this what type of mistake (or damage) this is. I've been setting aside coins that I've found interesting for the past few years, but I've only recently started learning more about error coins. I'd appreciate your thoughts. The cheek and hair looks like it says "35G," "3JG" (or 3 instead of G), and there is also writing by the top of the head and on the neck (or images). Thanks for your thoughts!

    Welcome to the neighborhood!

I think you're letting your imagination get the best of you. All I see is a worn ear and curls of hair.

I think I see what he's talking about. The writting at the top of the head.

All I see there is some scratches and worn hairlines. This isn't the first time someone has thought they've seen something that isn't really there.

Thanks for the quick feedback. I'm uploading more pictures with the area of interest marked and adjusted contrast. Even if this is PMD, it's still helpful to learn, so I appreciate your comments.

I'm with you, Chris... I see nothing out of the ordinary. Just looks like a well-worn, clad Washington Quarter. :/

I also think it just worn but also can see where he can see numbers. No mint damage however.
