Bad seller ? What should I do ?

So I bought this coin a few weeks ago, I knew what I was getting into being that it was not slabbed by a TPG but I was taking a chance on a downgraded slider I hoped for AU53 -it didnt meet my standards for what I thought I was getting so I returned it within the specified time stated in the auction.

It arrived back to the seller on April 19th . per USPS tracking. I have contacted the seller 3 times on the time frame on actually recieveing my money back. No answers until just this morning. Which came in the form of a message from Ebay for the dispute. I gave them all the info on the tracking info & the case has been closed. But still no word on MY refund. Im staring to get upset now-
To top it off today Im doing my usual searches on Ebay & what do I find but the coin I returned relisted & the start date was 3 days ago- So this seller has not contacted me &, is reselling the coin without returning my money first.

What do I do ? Should I keep badgering the seller for my money ? Report the seller to Ebay ? Tell the people that are bidding on it now how bad the coin actually is & give them links to the pictures I posted here so the can really see what it looks like ? Or just wait it out ?

Who wants to know who this seller is?

They only buy high grade PCGS & NGC coins it seems to me but they only sell crap graded NNC or NTC graded coins.

They obviously have knowledge of what is a good graded coin & what is not- In my opinion they are just an unscrupulous seller. Trying to make a buck on bad coins to further their collection. I think they may even be the owners of NNC.

The company sounds like TNFC. Since they are ANA members you should be able to use the ANA's arbitration if you need to.

Did you file a complaint with paypal? Or just ebay? If it was paypal, and they filed for you, they refund your money about 6 days later I believe.

 

Have you tried using the " dispute console " on EBAY ? It's there to help with problems such as these. I hope you didn't leave a positive feedback for the item. If you did it makes it almost impossible to resolve.

 

Report the seller to EBay immediately.

Download the pictures from the auction you bid on before the seller thinks to kill them, and give EBay the original auction number and the current auction number with the same pictures.

Personally, I would risk getting my first negative feedback in order to give this guy what he deserves.

 

I have not left them feedback yet & they left me positive feedback the day I paid for it so no risk to me ! I havent actually filed a complaint yet. I have given them the benefit of the doubt for the first few days- Im just starting to get worried. I will file after one more try via email. I have used the disput console before , I sell coins just about every week on ebay , so I am pretty schooled in the use of the site. When I have to give a refund I give it the hour after I get the item back or the moment some one makes me aware of a problem (not that there have been many,but it does happen)

 

I purchased a cleaned and recolored Lincoln cent (for much less than you paid) from this guy a couple of years ago. He was a little slow with email, but he did eventually refund my payment.

With a final value fee as high as this one is he will want to get that back so he will file to get his eBay fees refunded and that is part of your leverage to get the money back. Also, I strongly recommend NEVER using the eBay dispute console as a BUYER because it is a tool built to benefeit sellers. Plus eBay has no (direct) control of your money, so a much better option is to use the Paypal dispute resolution system. Paypal is VERY good at getting a buyer's money back if they have been cheated, it is one of the best reasons for using Paypal as a buyer.

 

If we all went and asked him if he gave the last buyer of this coin his money back, would that be bad???

This does mean that the seller has acknowledged I had it & I returned it.This is why Im still waiting it out .It seems like they are on their way to getting me my payment back.They are just moving too slow for my pace.

If you paid with paypal, they have no excuse to not have your money to you. However, if you paid otherwise, I expect it may take you quite a while to get a refund

 

I did use Paypal, They do help but I think its only to $1000. I once had to wait 3 months for a refund from them on a dispute. I just hope I dont have to go thru that again.

I once sold a guitar, and it left my hands in perfect condition, and the buyer beat the hell out of it when he got it (I packaged it flawlessly), and then demanded a 500 dollar partial refund. Paypal said I owed it to him, or had to refund it all, and unfortunately, it was cheaper for me to give him 500 since the guitar was ruined. Other than that, paypal has always filed with me, and since he has a refund policy, and you have proof that you returned it, I think they will help you out, but at the same time, I'd wait a while, because heaven forbid they sided with you and you ended up without a coin or cash.

 

You really should have looked here before bidding on one of his auctions!

Kind of looks like he wants to keep your money and get his EBay fees back.

 

I have a seller that I trust and he lets me pick and choose. We have to fill one of these out for every transaction I return so he gets credit from eBay.

 

If you payed with a credit card through paypal, you can call the credit card company and have them do a chargeback. Just be sure to take all of your money out of your paypal account first.
