Since I don't have any coins from Haiti in my collection,I decided to pick up these two.
The large 20 centimes is of Fabre Nicholas Geffrard who was president for 8 years from 1859-67.Among his other accomplishments,he petitioned Abraham lincoln for recognition of Haiti as a free independent country to prevent takeover by Spain,he was successful.
The second coin,a silver 12 centimes is of Alexandre Petion (president 1806-1818) who is considered the father of the Panamerican movement. He helped finance Simon Bolivar in the liberation of Columbia and Venezuela, among others.
    Anyone else have Haitian coins?

Mikjo0,the 5 Centimes & 10 Centimes coins depicting President Francois 'Papa Doc' Duvalier in the 1970's often turn up.You'd need this for your non-Axis of Evil dictators collection.
