This the first Morgan coin I have ever owned. Got this from a needy friend. I selected this coin because of the chopped lips and the 4 arrow heads on the reverse. I will be posting more pics that shows 'some doubling' in the obverse and reverse. I tried posting these pics at Vams World but the procedure is so complicated to upload. I believe it is a Vam12 or 12A. This coin has not been attributed. Pics are not so good. Any help please.

VAMWorld's Wiki-based protocol does make it difficult to load and post photos. First, you have to be very careful to give each photo a unique name so as not to overwrite existing photos, many of which are in the VAM listings. Also, if you want all of your photos archived into an easily found and retrievable group, you have to make sure that every named photo begins with the same prefix such as your name or initials (as long as no one else is using the same prefix). Even with a unique name, your photos can still be "buried" in the archive which holds tens of thousands of photos and searching for them might mean scanning dozens of pages. Finally, the biggest drawback to the process is that you have to manually enter each photo name inserted between brackets when posting photos to a thread. It's a real pain in the kazootie.

I can't tell from your photos what VAM it may be. Better close-ups would be necessary for ALL of the markers mentioned in the listing, both obverse and reverse. You should also post a photo of the reverse, too.

Thanks rzage and Chris. I will keep on trying to upload at VamWorld. Here are some more pics. i wish I can post closer pics but this is as close as my ordinary camera can do. Hope this will help. I am still working on the reverse of the coin.

Hi rzage and Chris. While trying to get better pics look what I discovered. It must be a milder variety than the '88O Vam4. Even the doubling on the chin is less pronounced. There seem to be a smaller second eyelash. I have been looking for a similar Vam but I couldn't find any. Anybody can help me out. Thanks

What you see around the lips are the tips of the leaves on the reverse from a die clash. They are pretty common. Look along her neck for a partially clashed "n" from IGWT. I still would like to see the whole reverse.

I don't see any clash near the neck. Here's one on the Vee. What about the chin do you see any doubling there?
