Picked up 20 Gettysburg ATB & 5 Lincolns
On the bottom 2 I can read 2nd Brigade, I'll keep those
The rest go to grand children and friends.
By the way they still had some 2010 AGE

Can you buy them at face value at the mint? In a gift shop? How does the purchasing work?

At the Denver Mint you can purchase Quarters and Prez Dollars via a change machine. Put in $5 and get $5 (face value) in coins.

As a side note, at the Denver Mint the gift shop was moved outside the Mint building after 9/11 and is privately operated.

Such a change machine they have in Philadelphia too. When I was there (in May), you would put in a $1 bill and get four ATB quarters ...

That's how it works put in a dollar (paper) and get 4-ATB quarters
Put in a $5.00 get 4 presentential dollars, nothing for the Sac's

It would be pretty cool if the change machine was like the Gold ATM in Florida, except you'd get to choose which change you wanted in return for, say, $1.

I went to the Philly Mint yesterday.

It's basically a long hallway. You pass by old displays of mostly medals. There were signs indicating that they are working on new displays. Then you turn back and view the factory. This part was very interesting. You can watch the long strips of metal going into the machines to make the blanks, and eventually coming out as finished coins into giant hoppers.

At the end of the floor was a robot and a man finishing 5oz ATB silver coins. It looked like there was a mountain on the reverse, so it was probably the Glacier coins.

The change machine that dispenses fresh quarters was out of order, but you could buy rolls of the 2011-P Vicksburg quarters at face value from the cashier in the gift shop.

If I remember correctly the San Francisco mint is closed to the public. Now the old mint I do believe has tours

The first part sure is. :) But I don't know whether the Old Mint is already open to the "general" public - apparently you can get in for special events ...
