    Hello all,

Just got this today, and I was curious what it was. It seems to be somewhere along the lines of a late Tudor-era to early Stewart-era English coin, based on the coat of arms on the reverse:

    With a quarter for scale:

Any ideas here, folks? I could be way off base, but this is pretty much unidentifiable to me. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

Looks to me like it could be a gigot from Brabant (Belgium) or Spanish Netherlands, ca. 1500s.

Nailed it. I can make out "1610" on the coin, now that I knew where to look. Thanks for the help; it is, in fact, a coin of Ernest of Bavaria, Prince-Bishopric of Liege from 1581-1612.
