Jefferson, off center or planchet error?

Just added this to the collection. I'm not sure if it's an off center or planchet error. A 1988 is on top of the 1999 coin in one picture this thread is about. As you can see, the coin is round and larger. It is also much thinner than a normal nickel. The thickness is even across the coin and the diameter is very close to round (normal roll).
The weight is correct by crude balance comparison.
It also has a real nice die crack from the left (9 o'clock) to the first column of the Monticello building.
Has 6 full steps too! Light nicks, but no cuts or bridges.
Maybe Mike Diamond has a view about this one. I thought about his recent article on "upset planchets".

I have some off center strike coins, but this has different attributes that I don't yet recognize. Any input is welcome. Thanks. Bob

It definitely looks off-center. It might be an off-center broadstrike.

Looks to me more like a partial collar error. Let's see what others have to say. Im still learning the errors.

    I would say it's a BroadStrike.

It is the same principal as the half dollar in an earlier post. It is a partial collar error.

That is a weird one. First one I've seen. Almost looks like a nickel struck on a quarter blank but smashed to a thinner size. By the way how does it compare with a quarter in size? Where did you get it? Did you buy it or find it in change?

    It's an uncentered broadstrike.

Sorry for the cofusing description and photo. The fist picture is of two nickels. The normal one is on the left, the
on in question is on the right.
It is larger than a nickel and smaller than a quarter.
I'll try to add better pics of the rim and eveness of thickness. The rim did not remain raised on either side due to the offset strike.
    Thanks for the feedback everyone.
