Do you have any tips on how to find old bills or and dates I should look out for? How about those star dollars I've been keeping? Thanks in advance!
I always recommend purchasing a guide book for an idea of which bills, which federal reserve banks, and which stars are rarer than others. You can also use these websites as an idea: http://www.uspapermoney.info/groups/ http://www.mycurrencycollection.com/reference/stars/
For circulated notes at face value, go to your bank and ask for whatever demomination you are interested in. I also search rolls of coins so when I dump my coins at the bank in the coin counter, I usually ask for a couple of hundred in $1 or $5 notes. I have found $1 notes as old as 1963 and 1969 in circulation. I also order $2 bills occasionally.
Sorry, I've just noticed that. That post came out a couple minutes after this one. I'll just look on that one.
