Ike Dollars

Previously in this thread there was discussion on whether banks had to make Morgans available if they had any or whether they had to charge face. I was giving one case history.

Actually I don't think a private bank has to deal with you at all.

My case was a bit amusing. It was Christmas time and the bank was saving their dollars for folk who wanted them for Christmas gifts. However the bank handed me a bag of silver dollars and said I could pick out a few I wanted. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. The very next week I went back. This time I had to wait for a previous customer to go through the bag. No wonder I never found anything by that method.

Dollars at banks

That makes my stomach hurt. I do remember when I was a kid and one of my aunts would give me silver dollars for my birthday and I would take them out and spend them.
