Last weekend I went out to a coin store to look for holes in some of my coin collections. I was able to pick up the last two dates I needed for my Buffalo Nickel collection; the 1917-S and 1926-S. Anyway, the real reason I am posting is that I had $10 left over and bought 250 wheat cents. After examining the contents I realized I had 50 that were betwee 1909-1939 with a 1909-VDB, 1910-S, 1911-D, and a 1923-D. Looking for overdates and such, I found a 1954-D (D/D/D) error, 1947-S (S/S), and a rare 1919-D (D/D) north. The 1919-D being worth about $20 in VG. Also found two or three minor double mintmarks and a couple of steel cents.
I'm going back today for another batch. Maybe 400 or 500 this time. I might be getting a little cocky though.
Cool! Finding stuff like that is always exciting, especially the 1909-VDB (I have a thing for those).
