    Hello,
So last saturday I got my first "S" mintmark coin which is the 1908:) Its not graded so I was wondering is this genuine or is it fake? And what would be the grade?

    Thanks
    Dan

How much did you pay? Do you think it is worth $50 to get it graded? I Don't know about authenticity.

Congrats! Neat coin. The first branch mint cent!

No, don't waste money on grading. Too expensive for the coin.

Nice coin, great price. You could try ANACS they're a cheaper grading service
Also there's a CT member here who has a grading set meaning every grade slabbed.

F-12. Nice looking Indian and worth the $88 you paid but not worth the extra money and effort it would take to get it slabbed. It looks great in your album. Just enjoy it as is.

Cool coin! Just put it in your book and take it out every once in a while to show it off to your friends/family. Two years ago, I found an 1891 Indian Head in change. Earlier, I found an 1887. They're both in the book.:)

Can you take a better picture of the mintmark?

You can check out the set if you like and compare with the OP coin to try to determine the grade. I'm thinking the coin here is a VG or F. Definitely not worth paying anymore to get it certified. Congrats on getting your first 1908-S!!
