I have had these for some time and recently found them as I was throwing out my yellow pages. Yes thats right I almost threw out 2000$ in the garbage hehe. Lucky me but I got to thinking its time to sell these two bills.

They are 1954 examples in fantastic condition. No rips anywhere and only a few small pleats (bet I could squish them under some books and get them perfect again but dont want to risk it )

I went to sell them today and the currency guy behind the counter offered me 2000$ straight not a dime more. I see these going on ebay as single units non sequentially numbered for about 1200-1300 so what would mine be worth? Please shoot me a number for a quick sale as I am not greedy I just want to get whats fair for these!

    Thank again!

I'm not an expert on paper currency, but it seems to me that the offer you received was fair, since non-sequentially they are selling for $1200(Canadian I take it?).

They might have brought a little more than face if they were still on the sheet instead of cut off into individual notes, as with U.S. notes.

    I guess I wasnt clear,
He offered me 2000$ for both bills
    face value really!

I would want at least 2300$ for both would be fair what do you think?

The reason face value was a fair offer is because no dealer will pay full retail. He has to pay less than what he can sell them for. So if he can sell each bill for $1200 the most he will pay is about $1000. If he did anything else he'd be out of business in a month.

$1000 notes are a tough sell. It's a lot of money to tie up. If they had been Devil's head notes, they'd have a higher premium. A friend had bought 40 $1000 notes. He sold a few and then cashed in the others.

I think if you want to try and get that amount, put them on craigslist and see what happens.

In so far as you being clear, I understood exactly what you stated in your OP to this thread.

Read GDJMSPs reply concerning the offer you received.
