Old japenese 10 yen

    It is nearly impossible to tell the date, but I can tell it is Showa era, so I will give you a guide to read it yourself.(It says to count from 1925, but you are actually supposed to count from 1953)

    You must have done the date wrong, as this coin type was not produced until 1953. If you are counting from 1925 you need to count from 1953 instead.

    You have a 1984 ( 昭和五十九年 ) 10-yen coin that is worth approximately 12.5 cents at the current exchange rate.

    The Showa era started in 1926 and ended in 1989, so you start with a base of 1925 and add the Showa number to that. The coin is Showa 59, meaning that it is A.D. 1984 (1925 + 59)
