sgs resubmitted

    has anyone taken an inflated in grade sgs coin and submitted it to anyone else simply as a comparison? just wondering about them for i haven't seen much on this company.

    SGS is a basement grader, and all their stuff is highly overgraded. Most of the modern is all slapped with the MS/PR70 even when the likelyhood they are below that.

    I avoid them at all costs. Stick with NGC and PCGS, you'll almost never go wrong.

    Yeah, but the OP wanted to know if anyone has ever submitted one to a top TPG for comparison. Probably not, as most collectors are well aware of the overgrading.

    Submitted it to PCGS, since it was a fairly nice looking Type 2, and got this back:

    Holy smokes. They didn't even realize it or are not aware of the varities. Great score!

    They would not be considered what they if that happened all the time but you have a tendency to come up with long shots at about lottery odds on your Ikes.
