has anyone taken an inflated in grade sgs coin and submitted it to anyone else simply as a comparison? just wondering about them for i haven't seen much on this company. thanks again folks, walter
SGS is a basement grader, and all their stuff is highly overgraded. Most of the modern is all slapped with the MS/PR70 even when the likelyhood they are below that. I avoid them at all costs. Stick with NGC and PCGS, you'll almost never go wrong.
Yeah, but the OP wanted to know if anyone has ever submitted one to a top TPG for comparison. Probably not, as most collectors are well aware of the overgrading.
I bought this for $52 Submitted it to PCGS, since it was a fairly nice looking Type 2, and got this back:
They would not be considered what they if that happened all the time but you have a tendency to come up with long shots at about lottery odds on your Ikes.
