Looks like tool marks to me. Angular in shape. Metal raised up, and an even better angle. Again, that would have been flattened out from tons of pressure per square inch. Damaged
Think about it. That raised metal along the edge near the 6 is higher up that the raised markings of the date. How could it have left that area untouched and yet left the raised designs for the date- which are lower? The dies would have made contact with that raised area first and flattened it. Impossible...thus it is damaged.
Neat looking damage. Usually when one tries to damage which I’m sure we have all seen is horrific. Thank you!
