I roll search daily and am very familiar with the finger funk that comes along with it, too. Thank god for pumice stones, they're the only thing that really gets rid of it. However, I am vaguely reassured by the fact that the patrons and entertainment of Gentleman's Clubs rarely use coinage in their transactions. You want to strike fear into my germaphobe heart? Ask me to think about $1 and $5 bills and all places they've been. Uh oh. Now I'm thinking about it...gotta go find the Xanax...
Very nice. I found 10 wheaties in my box of pennies that I got from the bank, just finished searching through them all today.
Ever try scented latex gloves? http://www.amazon.com/Aurelia-Indulgence-Peppermint-Examination-Honeycomb/dp/B004SQXBTE
I work at Walmart part-time up front with the cashiers. I try to bring home at least 1 Wheatie a day. I got a couple of silver dimes last week. Also last week I brought home a 1980 Kennedy half that was 'double heads', 'heads' on both sides. What do I have here. My wife says it is a magicians coin, but it sure looks real to me. Seems it might be a little heavier than the 'regular' coin. Thanks.
Tyler, I've been to many really nice places in TN that are not nearly as economically depressed as where my in-laws are. I certainly meant no offense and was not generalizing about the state, merely saying that the people on that website look a lot like those at the Walmart in their town.
Nice find. I was once at walmart and found a 1957-D quarter in the weight scale in the produce section. I guess somebody forgot a quarter during a deal
It probably is a magician's coin. The proper weights are as follows: 1965-1970 - Weight 11.50 grams 1971 - to date Weight 11.34 grams. People mill out the whole face or reverse of one coin and mill off the reeded edge and rim of another coin and fit them almost perfectly together. If you look around the inner rim on either side you will most likely fine the marriage point. I just watched the "Modern Marvels" US Mint documentary just today and seen that they strike both the obverse and reverse simultaneously with a "hammer die" (moving Top) and "Anvil die" (stationary bottom) so it's highly improbable for a "natural error" like that to appear with out it being noticed immediately these days anyway. It would be neat to see a picture of it. Hope this helps some.
