Thats possible, though I saw one PCGS graded genuine 92 and if I am not mistaken it was a 1799 Dollar..would have to double check the date though... I double checked the 1799 PCGS coin again and it was graded genuine with a 98 code.. Environmental damage? Must have been on the reverse of that coin as the obverse looked rather nice....
40 is way too high a grade for that coin. Are we looking at the same coin? This eBay listing has a 40 http://www.ebay.com/itm/1800-DRAPED-BUST-DOLLAR-NGC-XF-40-VERY-ORIGINAL-RARE-/170682663939#ht_2981wt_952 I am with my original grade of F15, with a slight chance at VF20
Yes we are.. Very bold shield detail on reverse and most of the feather detail is present. I could see it being downgraded to vf due to the old cleaning.
I would say PCGS graded it F-12. The small pictures make it look cleaned, but blowing them it makes it acceptable to me. My opinion only.
At first glance I wanted to say a 35 but after looking a bit longer I dropped to a VF20 but think a 25 would be good too. As for cleaning I don't think that would been notated on this one. VF20 Oh and I LOVE IT
