Nice find its rpm #1. Ef 45 TO AU 50 about 7 TO 10 bucks. Its a really nice rpm, one of my favorite. Nice find
Thanks, I have seen that the 1956d rpm #1 at the grade mine is valued at about 8 dollars but they do say that if they also have a BIE error that they hold a higher premium. I have yet been able to find another one on line so was curious as to what the difference was. I too like the fiftys wheaties.
Read this link -> www.coppercoins.com This may help and read the link above. there is just about everything you will need to know about Wheat& LMC cent type's :kewl: http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1956&die_id=1956d1mm001&die_state=mds
repunched mint mark That's a nice combo of errors. I offer an equation of probabilities for review... I 'll call it the cococo ratio- common error combination in common grade. Price of one error ($8 for RPM) multiplied by price of next error(Around $5 for BIE?) multiplied by grade/70 (in this case 45/70). That gives $25.71. If it was a vf-20 it would equal $11.43, if ms 60 then $34.29. Of course this equation will fall apart at the extremes, i.e. a MS-70 for $40 would be unrealistic. The equation would require well established prices, which would be available on the somewhat common errors. Of course this may be just drivel, but I figure it would be an honest, probability based equation used as a starting point in negotiations. What say you?
You also have to figure in collector interest. No interest, no premium. A lot of interest, a higher premium. Then, there is ebay bidiot factor. Two bidiots.....well then the sky's the limit.
It's a nice RPM, probably worth $2-3. The BIE die chip is considered damage by serious collectors and will actually lower the value. Also, if your color representations of the obverse and reverse are accurate, the obverse has been harshly cleaned and that futher lowers the value.
