Would anyone happen to know where I could get some junk silver for about 90-95% of spot. Thanks for any information.
If you are quick on Ebay you can get it there pretty easy or you could post an add in your local paper.
Look in the bargain bin at your local coin dealer. I often find Mercury dimes and war nickels for under melt.
Have you tried posting any ads on your local craigslist? That seems to generate pretty good amount. Coin shows are another good place to find un overpriced wannabe dealers you can get in with. Once you create a contact and you stay with it the better your prices seem to be. Atleast, that seems to always be my luck. Good luck on your future endeavors of junk silver.
Why not post an ad on Craigslist.com, under collectibles, offering to buy junk silver coins 1964 and before and name a price you're willing to pay, like 26x face, which is what the local B&M near me is offering.
Oh, there's also flea markets, if you can find any. If you sift through all of the junk for sale, you can really find some treasure.
Well my only problem is is that I am 14, so anywhere that involves driving is pretty well out of the question. I put on craigslist that I will be buying/selling coins on Saturday at my aunt and uncles garage sale, but I doubt it will really do anything.
What did you say in your ad? Did you mention your buy offer for junk silver coins? Did you say anything about 90% only, or both 90% and 40% silvers?
If you're going to buy silver coins at the sale, I would offer 25 or 26x face as the current spot is $39.90, with each 90% dollar having a melt of $30.86.
You should be careful advertising on Craigslist like that. You're telling everyone that you have coins & cash on the premises. Chris
All they need is a baseball bat covered in electrical tape and a ski mask homie then kiss your collection and your hide goodbye.
Oh ok, but I'm just thinking I would just give them the couple silver coins and buffalos if it really came down to it.
