Alert! Alert! I'm About to Try to Determine the VAM's of My Morgans

This will be my third attempt.
Since I now have experience ID'ing Capped Bust half dime die marriages, hopefully I'll do better this time with my Morgans.
I'll start with 1921 and work backward in time.
Why? Mostly because the newer dates tend to be higher grades, therefore the PUP's and other diagnostics should be more obvious.

I suspect I'll be asking LOTS of questions about specific coins.
For any coins I ask about I intend have large images.
I don't know how often I'll ask for help but I hope I don't wear out my welcome.

And so it begins.

Sure, it will be a snap ID'ing the 21's. Between the three mintmarks, they only struck 85 million of them. How many die pairs do you think they used for the 40 million Philly's?

Oh, good!
The first coin I looked at (1921-S) and I'm already ripping the paper off the walls.
I think(?) it's the most common (1921-S VAM 1).

I also think(?) there's an error in the book (4th edition).
The reverse description includes the statement, "Both 1's in the date are doubled at the top left".
Why would a diagnostic about the obverse be included with the reverse description?

Nothing else appears to fit the coin.
