i am not sure how this would grade but i picked it up at a flea market for 3 bucks, did i get a good deal?
Any buffalo with a full horn and nice condition like that is well worth $3! Nice pick up. Looks Au to me. It is worth more like $15.
Nice coin! I like this one, I searched through a roll I bought once and picked out the best one to match up with my 1913 Type 1, beginnign and end if it were. I really miss such great American designs on our coinage. Bunch of dead white guys, as great as they were, is old and stale. You know, France had great leaders as well, but their coins are fresh and artistic. We once were, portraying greatness of our ideals, (liberty cap), artistic imagery, (draped bust, capped bust, and SL), solid coin design, (barbers), and then our renaissance of creativity, (WL, buffalos, SL, St Gaudens). Now its stale bureasucratic ugliness where they think replacing a stale building with a worst, game board derived shield is something "exciting". Sorry for the rant, I like your nickel! Chris
That's a nice one. Once in a while you find something nice at the flea market amongst the usual overpriced and problem coins.
