I sent a note to the seller letting him know there were no '47-O's minted, but I'm sure he already knows that.

 

I messaged him, and got this gem just a minute ago.

 

Cant wait to see what he says to my mssg!

 

I sent him a colorful message in return. I'm sure ebay will be taking it down pretty soon.

 

Here's my response from the seller:

they are all kinds of these on there with the o mark right on the back side why is this one any different type in 1847o or 1847-o and you can see them i would never listed this if i thought it was fake you guys just assume somone is a crook Thanks

Him: look i went on ebay i searched these coins they are on there 4 sale i listed them i dont need the money to crook someone now your lil coin gang you have can quit emailing me and harrasing me they are some on there now that is what i am going by ezmoney is from a scrap recycling buisness an i dont have to work others work for me if its any of ya business great american you probably just rescue what EBAY members get a life im not a coin collector or grader & i researched them on ebay before listing them thats why i said let the pictures speak for themselves so stop harassing me & go harass the other 1400 people on ebay with the same coin idiot

 

That is the mentality of the people selling these. They don't appreciate or care if they break laws or ruin hobbies or rook people out of money. They get on the internet and do their "research" on eBay, and if they find something there, they consider it fair game for them to sell it on eBay and elsewhere as well.

 

I looked up 1847 o seated dollar to see if other people were selling them like he said....He's the only one.

 

I love getting into the fray, so I sent him this message: "Did you know that you are selling a counterfeit or altered coin as a real item? And did you know it is illegal as well as against eBay policies?"

 

Well, I told him.. the others you see are HALF dollars. Oh well, in the words of the captain:

"What we've got here is... failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach… which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men."

 

I didn't know I was part of a coin GANG! I like it. But I would call it more of a posse. HA HA

 

He has more listings that are probably fake as well.
