    Hmm I did put it on a scale(in grains not grams) and it was about 25grains lighter than a real 64 which is not to much so I'm not sure, I'll have to take it to a dealer to check it out. I'll probably keep it either way just cus it's cool

    Edit: WOW merc do you just ask for ike's or how do you go about finding Morgans/peace?

    The weight, and sound, will be off due to the process used to make the magician's coins. The high quality ones are made from real coins; if both sides say "1964" then I'm going with it being made from 90% silver (and some adhesive). The funny part is that, as a magician's coin, you could sell it for considerably more than melt.

    ADDENDUM: I recently went through $70 (140 coins) of 1964's, almost all of which would be AU50 or above, i.e. no significant wear to cause weight reduction; I weighed (grams) every single one. The weights ranged from 12.2 grams to 12.8 grams. That would be a 10 grain difference from the lightest to the heaviest. I suspect the 25 grain (1.62 grams) difference you found would be caused by the removal of metal to make the two '64s into a magician's coin.

    I hold up my hands to indicate the rough size of an ike dollar and ask them if they have any of the big older dollar coins. I've also picked up a Peace dollar mixed in with 59 ikes.

    Went through $10,000 (20 boxes) of Halves today and only pulled (5) 40%. Didn't even hit one 90%. Pretty pathetic day to be quite frank.

    Awesome score Merc! How much do you think that type 2 will go for? I always dream of finding some peace or morgan dollars, but I think your T2 is an even better find!

    Two questions;

    1. Who the heck orders you 20 boxes?

    2. $10k? Dude, it takes me like, four months to make that money.

    Better pics of the Ike and Morgans;

    As-is, it's a $100 coin. If I can get the spots off, probably $200+.

    Dimes; skunk.
    Nickels; '20, '43-P, '45-S in FR02... real worn. Also pulled the best-struck '64 nickel I've ever seen, it comes a slight bump and one hit from being FS... sooooooo close it's ridiculous. Got my hopes up for a second before I busted out my loupe.

    Great score on those dollars Merc. I've been out of it pretty much for a while but still searching 2 boxes per week which I pick up today. Hoping for something good.

    Family at the bank or friends........

    I just went thru the occupations of my family and friends and found 3 managers/tellers. 2 credit unions and 1 US Bank teller. The credit union contacts only allow me to order $1000+ in halves so im waiting on those. I told my lady friend at us bank that i might be dumping coin there, she says its ok.

    Wow. Incredible Merc!

    Thanks for sharing. Is there any way you can get a close up of the T2? I'm not sure I know what it looks like. I've been looking for a while, but never found one. Thanks.

    Wow.
