Hello. My opinion is that this coin will come back as cleaned. Could just be the pictures, but it really looks to have been harshly cleaned.
The lack of breast feathers on the reverse also makes me think its circulated.

lol Texasmom, yeah you better cancel the order on the new ferrari.
Cleaned coins can have some value when they are key dates. Common ones would drop the value to melt.
I found this 1886 O that was lightly cleaned that sold for $75.00

So I would bet you could get $40-$60 for it.

Can you put the picture back up? Some of us might benefit from seeing a picture of a cleaned coin - so we know what to look for.

 

I agree. Please don't delete posts like this (or report them asking to be deleted) just because you didn't get the answer you were hoping for. Threads like these are great chances to learn and hone one's skill for grading.

 

Agreed, as there are times I am still trying to know if a raw coin I am interested in has been cleaned.. the more examples I can see the better...

 

I think TexasMom was embarassed... but no need to be. I've inadvertently bought coins that were cleaned, tooled, whizzed, altered, etc., etc... and I'm still here. These guys are right.. always leave up your mistakes for others to learn from.

 

I hope I didn't come across as crass. I wasn't trying to. I always feel bad if someone feels embarrassed or angry when they find out the facts. I am no stranger to it. This forum has crushed many of my dreams!

 

Same here, I just bought a 1920 Pilgrim commem of E-Dump that sort of looked toned from the less than perfect pics. Only to find out it looks cleaned....

 

Not embarrassed, not angry... Actually, I'm very appreciative and have learned a lot of valuable info from this forum. I was sincere when I said thank you.
