    Those are very nice commemorative 2 Euro coins.Don't forget that the Vatican City 2005 coins from the 1 Euro-Cent right up to the 2 Euros are also commemoratives as well - Sede Vacante (the interregnum between the reigns of Pope John Paul II of Rome & Pope Benedict XVI of Rome).

    Strictly speaking, those Sede Vacante coins are not commemoratives - they just show a seal instead of a Pope. And they could have been issued in 2002 and 2003, had there been a Vacant See period in those years. The commemorative coins, however, were introduced by EU law in late 2003 and first issued in 2004. Practically there is hardly any difference however, and none of the Vatican coins actually circulate anyway. :)
