Probably shouldn't have worded it that way, Zach. I plan on bidding and hopefully winning, but not thinking anyone else would bid 63 money or higher. Now, I suppose that has all changed, hasn't it? -Brian
ahhhhk whats that phrase???? "opening up a can of worms" I do believe?? well Brian all i can say is sorry for blowing your cover and i hope that you win....i voted MS-66 before all of this and i feel that this would be a wonderful coin to have (as a fellow morgan lover MS-63 is my favorite grade , for obvious reasons )
everybody: prepare for an epic psychological battle until the bidding ends. I'll bet 25 bids withing the last 60 sec
Of course it matter the "easy year" or a "key date" the TPG'ers MARKET GRADE. If it was a CC it's would get a bump. And as you can see I was one of the 6 that got the grade correct. I do think in a new holder it would get 64 or a 63+ but if you look at the zoom of that picture that cheek is too big of a hit to go high. Price is grade. Grade is Price.
I'm guessing you paid around the MS63 price for it? It's a beautiful Morgan, & based on those pics, I'd probably guess MS65. But I wouldn't spend the $$ to have PCGS grade it again--my experiences with them have led me to believe that paying PCGS to grade coins is often just (expensive) gambling, as their grading is so whimsical. (My opinions). If it were a much more expensive coin, might be worth it, but it's not. Plus it's got that cool OGH holder.....Just enjoy the coin as is, I say....
