You folks are so kind to me, i have known this dealer about 2 years, i want to trust him, i really do, i like him as a person, "but" there has always been a part of me, that feels i should be on guard. I paid about 2,500.oo. This coin has good eye appeal, graded in a ngc 67, i just have not been able to find information about what its value, he keeps telling me i have a very, very nice coin.

folks, i have been surfing, found PCGS SITE, looked up this 1908 D ms 67 ngc BUFFALO NICKEL, now do I go out and buy an real expensive car, or should I just keep my present vehicle, for if it was graded by PCGS, it would be worth 50.000 ! IF,IF, this vaguely posible, what in the world makes this a gem ????????????

if its 1915-d 5 nickel, you got a great deal, there are only 3 at that grade. there is no 1908-d nickel.

Gee, how should I interpret this quote, then?
"turtledove - you can look up stuff like this on the Heritage web site and then you know what the value differences are and don't have to rely on anybody."

What you're basically telling him is to do is rely on Heritage.

But just to access that information, you have to give Heritage your name, address and daytime telephone number. And Heritage auctions are geared toward high-end buyers-- and if you want to submit coins for auction, they have to have a cumulative value of at least $5000, which makes Heritage information not quite so useful for beginners or people with lower budgets or people who would rather access price information anonymously. I think Teletrade information is more useful for the average collector, and you don't have to give out personal information to access auction results.

You have joged my memory, i vaguely remember he told me something about grading, what would you or others do with this coin? I am an naive collector, this coin caused me go to the plastic card, for i usually buy coins when i saved enough money to buy. If, if, i do want to ever sell this coin, what steps would you take, private collector, auction house or go back to this broker? Where would i go to find the actual value of this coin? I know i am asking a lot from youall.

Are you saying that you are thinking of selling a 1908 Motto $10 Indian?
