I didn't know they made Proofs at the New Orleans Mint for that year

The title does not say PL, the description says AU. I see under strike it is PL but that appears to be his only mistake here.

Ah, he's revised it. Previously, he had "proof like" in the title as well as the description, and "BU" in the description. It's still listed as "proof-like" and "uncirculated" in the Item Specifics section.

Hahahaha, one of the many reasons that I just don't buy Morgans on Ebay...or Peace dollars for that matter. Too much money to take a gamble like that.

It's got some similarities to a proof. For one thing, it is round.

For another, it has a date on it.. oh and a head and an eagle as well......

Actually has a good bit in common with a PL Morgan...:dead-horse:

Well, it looks like he removed Strike Type entirely from the Specifics, changed "Condition" to "Circulated", and...

    ...it sold.

Well, at least the buyer should know what's coming now...

Even though it shows the auction ended, it does not show the number of bidders like most listings show after ending? Strange ?

There weren't...but most people don't know that there were several branch mint proofs made. I think 1879-O and 1883-O were the only New Orleans years.

It was a Buy It Now without a bidding option; that's the way they show up. It bugs me when I'm doing research, as I can't tell how long such an item was up before selling.

The listing now says "Sold For:" instead of "Price:" -- that's how you can tell that it actually sold. (Of course, if you're looking at a list of completed auctions, the ones that sold show prices in green, and those that didn't are red. It would be great if we could filter to see only one or the other, but eBay has apparently decided that's not in their best interest.)

Seller's response to my question about the PL designation is the coin is not certified by either TPG, and they bought the coin PL. However, I reported the listing and it has been shut down.

Both Morgans they had listed are showing as sold in the completed auction listings for this seller... both as buy it now..
