I agree, VF-XF, 400-500 buck coin. Underscores the necessity to get a formal appraisal.

You've shown us several thousand dollars worth of coins. Who knows how much more in value we aren't seeing here? With a collection like that, a formal appraisal is prudent, and it is downright foolish to not at least take it to a dealer and get them to look at it. From your posts this far, it doesn't seem like you're really interested in the coins anyway, just the money. So forgive me if I have some disdain for your attitude. Its a heck of an inheritance, numismatically speaking, and all you see are dollar signs.

Do any of the Buffalo dates look like they have been restored which looks like an acid spot around the date area ?

 

absolutely not. you can tell that in my pictures.

My father was a collector and these are rated as follows:
1924-S F
1926-S VG

 

Guys...stop bickering. Merc, I think some of what you are saying has merit...but try and be a little more civil please. As momma said: "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."

Now, back to the coins. First, I think Merc's suggestion of getting an appraisal is the way to go. Coins can only be judged so much in photos and many of the details are missed. Personally, I love seeing the coins and you can post as many as you want here to get opinions...but I think someone needs to look at them in hand. It's the only really good way to get an idea of what is truly there. The same goes for the Lincoln's you have posted.

Also, other coins in this set that are better dates include: 1914-D, 1915-S, 1921-S, 1924-S and 1926-S.

As has already been suggested, picking up a Red Book is also a really good idea. The values in it aren't that useful...but you can learn what coins are the better dates and get an idea of which coins are "valuable." But, like I said...the values themselves can't be trusted but the overall trends can. It is actually an invaluable resource and isn't that expensive.
