Is this a Quarter blank/planchet

I found this on the ground. Its just a little over 27x1 mm.

Could be a blank planchet, but since you found it on the ground, it could be anything.
I actually don't think it is, because the rims are not raised up, and it doesn't appear to show the copper core on the edge.

 

Looks like a punch out from an electrical outlet box that had the edge smoothed down.

 

I was thinking the same thing.

 

My Uncle was an electrician and used to save these for us kids to use as play money and would smooth the edges with a file.
