Wow, that was a mix up and a half!! Haven't seen you for a while but I remembered you man! Glad you're still with us, but very sorry to hear of the other guy. I did not know this other person but my condolences to his family.
Ok, everybody take back all those nice things you said about Speedy, don't want them to go to his head. So, does anyone know Speety?
To get an idea of this young numismatics collction that he built with his father please follow this link. http://www.coinsarefun.com/index.php?spage=seateddollars This set has been displayed by then at ANA shows drawing praise by many in the hobby.
I think that most of 'us' didn't cross paths with Speety as much as we did with Speedy. I can vaguely remember possibly sharing a few PM's here and there with Speety, and I definitely remember his posting on this board, but that is about it. Speety, Speedy, or whoever...it's always a shame to lose someone. My heart goes out to Mark's family.
Since that article they did finish the dollar set including the 70-S. I had a chance to see it last year at the Ohio State show. In speaking with his father Friday he said that they have done a lot of upgrading of the set, and I believe he either said that now 28 of the coins are MS or that they had added 28 MS pieces to it.
*sniff* *takes deep breath* mmmm....the smell is soo good! I was intoduced to a new embalming fluid the other night...it wasn't a formaldehyde type fluid, but let me tell you it was strong stuff - I wasn't even holding the bottle and my eyes were burning... I turned on an extra exhaust fan and then opened a door as well. It took awhile for those fumes to dissipate. Speedy
Speedy I live in a house that was a funeral home MANY years ago. My wife claims she can still smell the formalahyde. richard
You about gave me another heart attack Michael ! Thank God it only took me a few seconds to get to your original post and see the real name.
Deeply saddened to hear that such a young person has passed. Like so many of you, my first thoughts were that Spencer was gone. I'm glad that is not the fact. I shall pray for the young man and his family.
I think this should stay on track as a condolence thread. It's going from a respectful thread about the loss of a 21 y.o. kid, to a thread about formaldehyde. Lets try to keep it on topic. It's bad enough to lose someone who had a bright future that never got the chance to live life to the fullest.....if you want to talk formaldehyde, start a new thread. Not trying to be offensive, just trying to keep it on topic.
