I got this coin a few days ago and when I got it home I noticed that it has some damage or something right below the chin on the obv. I hope my pic are good enough. Is that damage or could it be a die clash?? any and all replies are welcomed. Thanks

Looks like something did gouge it a few times under the chin. Most likely PMD.

Very Fine Plus reverse, but what is the spotted OBV ? Soaked in oil ????

Those marks are a die clash of e plurbius unum. In the second picture you can see UM.

The obverse looks like my basement walls. Remind me to get the sub-pump fixed...

thanks I was beginning to think it was my bad eyes, you can see it much better under a microscope. Does that add any value to the coin???

I wouldn't think it adds too much.

Ok thanks, I think it is cool. I bought it off ebay for $5 and you really could not see it in the pic. Is there any thing I can do to get rid of thoes spots or should I just let it be???

Niiiiice die clash, the spotting bothers me a little, maybe a nice acetone bath with a distilled water rinse?

Such a die clash is typically a little higher on the Indian and is referred to as chin whiskers. Is quite common with Buffalos and you can usually see the Indian's chin die clash in the E Pluribus Unum.

Definitely a die clash. Bought one at an antique store last week. It would grade EF and bought it a few bucks below current market value for a "normal" 1914 buff.

Olive oil sometimes will "loosen" the crud. Do not use afterwards! Just having fun....then if you have a sonic jewelry cleaner will help Shake off the loosen spots.

Is that PVC I'm seeing at the top above "states"?
