In case you didn't know, that 67 Medio Balboa is 40% silver.

Also, the last 2 pages of this thread and not wrapping for me anymore. I have to scroll back and forth to read the entries. Is this happening for everyone? If not, help. If so, what is going on?

Wow - those are great results, and I totally agree with everything you said! Especially about only doing it as long as it remains fun. For me - I love the physical/coin aspect of CRH as well as the statistics (busted: nerd! :nerd:), hence my request for stats from others. Thanks for sharing your numbers, and good luck!

That is AWESOME! Thanks so much for sharing your stats!! I'm buying more boxes of halves...

Total noob question, but just to confirm...

CWR means "Customer Wrapped Roll" and MWR means "Machine Wrapped Roll" right?

That's right. BWR would be "Bank Wrapped Roll" which is the same as MWR.

I'll be sharing my stats as well soon. I do it every 100 boxes and I'm at 378 right now. When I get to 400, I'll post a big breakdown. But, with 378, my average of 3.29 silvers per box of halves is a statisically significant average. In that time, I've had 13 skunks in a row and my high box of 87.

Went to pick up my 2 boxes of halves today, but they said they hadn't ordered them, so I got a box of nickels instead. Found 1 '44 War Nickel, 1 '38-D in XF+, and... 2 Buffalos! A '24 and '36, my first ones, yess. I'm glad I asked for that box.

Today I searched 240 halves and came up with 1 64, 2 65's, 2 67's, 1 69, and a 1971-D. It appears to be a 1971-D silver Kennedy I have checked the reed edge and put tissue paper over the coin but I can't find much about rarity or value online. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

I went on a hunt for halves today - just random driving around stuff. I stopped in a BofA branch and the teller had one in her tray oand said they had $330 worth in the back - so I bought them all. The teller drawer half turned out to be a 1998-S (SMS) in really great shape. The rest were clearly someone's dump rolls (crimped on one end and folded on the other... do these have a special designation in the CRH world - like CWR or MWR?). Anyway - I filled a few more holes in my $.50 albums - but no silver. I also went ahead and got 10 rolls of quarters just for the fun of it (with little hope of scoring silver). I pulled out a few ATBs, 2009s, and 1999s that were in good shape. Oh, and a 1966 Panamanian 1/4 Balboa (I started keeping all that stuff in a special jar - it's now almost as fun as finding silver!). I recycled everything back into my account via the coin machine in my Credit Union's lobby, went to another of their branches on my last stop and scored another 44 rolls of halves. But... same deal: they were obvious dumps. Nada (except for a few less holes in the albums and a 2005 and 2010.

So, now my yield (for silver halves) is: 1 out of 2,450 or 0.039%. But I'm hoping I have better luck with MWRs from the Fed when I start ordering boxes on a regular basis. Volume.

    2 boxes of Halves - 1 x 1967 Kennedy and...

1 x 1975 Balboa (Panama)....Any idea if this thing is worth anything? I searched on-line and it seems to be a low mint (like 500,000 that year). Can't find much else on it.

    Cashed that in and grabbed:

2 boxes of dimes: 2 x Silver Rosie
    $150 in Nickels:

    1 x War Nickel
    2 x Buffalo (1935 and no date)
    15 x 1940's
    30 x 1950's

Any info on the 1975 Balboa is appreciated!

Is the Balboa silver? There were definitely silver versions made. I think even the clad versions are worth 10-20 bucks based on ebay but I really have no knowledge except ebay

3 boxes of dimes 3 rooos and 1 nicely toned AU merc. One of the rooos was a 55p hole filler for the book. Only 3 more holes to fill to complete a book filled from dimes pulled from circulatiion!

The 1/2 Balboa. According to the ngc world coin guide online... 1.2 million minted and up to 8 bucks in high grade. Minted by the us mint if I remember correctly. I found a clad 1/4 balboa in a roll a while ago.
