I have a 1981-S $20 Liberty Head Gold coin that I'd like to learn more about. I noticed that it's a type two with the moto "Twenty Dollars" printed on the back of the coin (too bad it doesn't read Twenty D!) It appears that the previous shop I purchased it at graded it AU value and i'm having a hard time coming up with any values for AU coins. Can anyone help me out here? And yes, I'm a newbie! Thanks !!
Nice coin, probably at least AU55 from what I can see. Unfortunately, it looks like these sell for close to bullion even in low uncirculated grades, so I think that's about what yours is worth. These have close to an ounce of gold in them.
