Medieval Groshen 1331-1371 Christ & Saints

    Here is a John Alexander and Michael Asen (1331-1371) silver groshen I think. It's 20mm in diameter and a little over 1.5gr in weight. It's the 2nd medieval Bulgarian Groshen I've picked up and the best of the two. I love the subtle toning on it :) If there is any further information you'd care to share please chime in.

    I believe they were father and son and were in power for a surprisingly long time for the period.Another name for him was Ivan I Alexander,I assume Ivan=John in Slavic languages.I have a coin of their immediate successor Ivan Sisman or John Shishman.Not sure what the big mess is on the obverse but it isn't the usual ruler with patron saint theme,that's for sure.

    Thanks Mikejo, This is another one just like the earlier Polish Grosh I posted here, although in better condition. I've been trying to acquire more Christ & Cross coins lately, not sure why??? Oh well :) Thanks again for taking a look.
