Anyone who sells on ebay knows that sometimes when you're typing up them sales ads it's best to give as much information as possible, sometimes. Sometimes sellers are funny but they get your attention and they have all kinds of bidders, even you. What catches your eye and attention in a sales ad? Do you steer clear of the silliness on ebay, do you like more information or less? What is the best strategy or funniest way you ever bought or sold on ebay? Examples anyone? :yes::thumb:

Yeah I think I remember, problem is i've read a ton of funny postings on here. I enjoy an occasional laugh when shopping especially on ebay.
If the title says 'LQQK!!!', OR if the image shows 40 stickers on it, looking like a fight scene from the old Batman series (POW!, OOF!, WHAM!, etc), I steer clear. There is at least one seller that has so many stickers like that on their slabs/flips, you can barely see the coin. Some sellers have a great sense of humor, but mere words can't sell the coin, so I go by image first, price, shipping, then, if I'm still interested, I'll read on.
When I was selling things I used colors and designs for the background depending on what it was because people are influenced to buy from those. Also very good pics with excellent description. The saying "Bid with confidence!" And well-stated return policy.
Hey how would you go about listing a gold ring. It's 22k gold and it weighs 14.4 grams so it's worth some nice money. Would you start it from 0.99? Any ideas?

I sold a buffalo rug once where reserve wasn't met so I relisted same and it sold very well. You can't tell.
It IS amazing how one week, an item doesn't get any action, but the next week, it's a BIN for 15% more and it sells.
I've never sold when I've used a reserve. I don't know what it is about setting a reserve but some people just don't like em. That's been my experience. I've had a couple of things that I placed with a reserve and they didn't sell. Then I placed that same item in a 0.99 auction and it sold. Ebay is a trip, but it helps my coin hobby alot. Well I had to think about it for awhile but I think I will use a small reserve just for safety. :thumb:
