Hi Everyone, I'm relativley new to the coin collecting world & this site. I recently purchased 30 + morgans & peace dollars some in excellent shape & others in terrible. However i came across a few 1922 peace dollars a couple are mint marked S & one other had matte proof look to it. From what I've read it's a very rare coin with not many accounted for. The individual I purchased these coins from sold them for $30 a peace & was not a collector beacause the coins were all loose in a box. Anyone have an idea what the 1922 peace dollar high relief is valued at. I will post a picture tomorrow evening. Also which Morgans have value to them. jwill-MA.
They all have value as silver , but any CC mintmarked are worth a premium , 1895 came only in proof , others '93-S , '94-S , '95- S . Along with various others . You should get a Redbook , it will give relative worth and mintages of every coin minted as well as a wealth of information . Also any date in the Higher grades is worth a good premium .
Thank you i bought the red book & have a bunch below is a list of what I have. I researched the values some are pretty good others are very low & combined with poor quality they be only worth the silver content. Please take a look at my inventory & let me know if anything sticks out. I am more importantly concerned with the value of the possible 1922 high relief peace dollar. There's a 22S HR Peace listed as a BIN on eBay for $47.50 plus shipping of $3. No completed sales on the search 1922 High Relief Peace Dollar.
I found one that sold on Heritage back in '06. $126,500. NGC proof 66. These are exceedingly rare...... Edit: To add. http://www.pcgscoinguide.com/displa...ype&additional_pages=1&guidesubcategoryid=725
I highly doubt your 1922 is a high relief. Very few of these were made and the 1922 business strike Peace Dollar is by far the most common coin in the series. If you could post photos of the coin...we will be able to judge it better.
1922 peace dollar high relief {pictures} Attached are some pictures I took with my phone I will try and get some better ones taken with a real camera today or tomorrow. the coin to the left is the coin that seems to look like a proof with a matte finish to it. It definatley is not the same as any others I have seen. Please let me know your thoughts. Jwill
Nah, I don't think so. Even with the fuzzy pics it doesn't look good for you buddy. You can tell a HR right off the bat once you know what to look for. Better luck next time.
Nice stike on it, the chin in particular looks much better struck-up than usual. Just the fact that you are aware such a coin exists suggests maybe, just maybe,...,,,
Thank you for taking the time to review my pics, I am a new collector who has been investing a ton in silver coins such as Morgans and peace dollars. I am also very fascinated with old coins pre 1900 so I'm sure you will continue to see posts from me with requests for advice. ''All misfortune is but a stepping stone to fortune.''
